Lyft adds ride option for skiers, snowboarders in Colorado

If you’re heading to Colorado for a Christmas ski vacation, maybe consider not driving or renting a car this year.

The ride-sharing service Lyft added an option for skiers and snowboarders in Colorado, Monday.

Ski Rack Mode lets riders bring their winter sport equipment. According to a Lyft news release each ride will accommodate two snowboards or four sets of skis.

Ski Rack Mode rides cost an additional $8. The service is available in and around Vail, Beaver Creek, Aspen, Snowmass, Steamboat Springs, Telluride, Winter Park and Granby, Colo.

Uber, another ride-sharing service, offers a similar program called UberSKI. UberSKI, like the Lyft program, operates in Colorado.

As of yet, no plans for Uber or Lyft to offer ski services in Spokane …
