Mariners Notes
- 3B Kyle Seager is one double away from 30 and one home run away from 20 this season. When he reaches 30 doubles and 20 home runs it will mark his fifth career 30 doubles and 20 homer season. Among Mariners players only Edgar Martinez (seven times) and Ken Griffey Jr. (five) have done it five or more times.
- C Mike Zunino has hit 19 home runs this season, the third-most in MLB as a catcher behind the Yankees’ Gary Sanchez (23) and Cubs’ Wilson Contreras (20). Zunino is on the verge of having two 20-homer seasons as a catcher for Seattle, the only one to reach that mark.
- 2B Robinson Canó enters play tonight with 837 career extra base hits (507 2B, 33 3B, 297 HR), good for 98th on the all-time list. He’s one multi-base knock behind Mariners batting coach Edgar Martinez (838 XBH: 514 2B, 15 3B, 309 HR) and Rusty Staub for 96th on the all-time list.
This Day in Mariners History
