Austin Rehkow, Idaho’s four-year kicker and punter from Veradale who was waived by the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 20, made an appearance at the Vandals practice Tuesday.

Rehkow signed as a free agent with the Bills in May.

“It was awesome,” Rehkow said of the NFL. “I loved it up there.

“I definitely can play there. I felt like I was in college again. I can do this.”

While he waits for another opportunity, Rehkow hopes to spend some time in Moscow with his successor at Idaho, Cade Coffey, a redshirt freshman from Rathdrum.

“I would like to help out with Cade, similar to what Bobby Cowan did for me” Rehkow said about when he succeeded Cowan with UI.
