From staff reports

The Shilo Inn and Suites Coeur d’Alene has been purchased by Idaho Progress of CDA, LLC and will be operated by Butte, Montana-based Town Pump, Inc. The 138-room hotel is at 702 West Appleway.

The acquisition is Town Pump’s second hotel in Idaho. The company operates the Sleep Inn & Suites in Idaho Falls as well as 12 hotels in Montana. Other holdings include Town Pump Convenience Stores and Travel Plaza’s, Lucky Lil’s Casino’s, Montana Lil’s Casino’s, Magic Diamond Casino’s and 20 Montana car washes.

“Major renovations are planned for the Shilo,” Town Pump spokesman Kevin Kenneally said Wednesday. “We have planned some initial renovations before the summer tourist season starts with a total renovation of all guestrooms, lobby and breakfast room starting in September.”

The hotel’s exterior and parking lot lighting also be updated.

Renovations are expected to be completed in April 2018, when the hotel will become a Comfort Inn & Suites.

“The Shilo rooms are some of the largest in the industry,” said Paula Ruark, marketing director for Town Pump Hotel Group. “The room size combined with the Comfort Inn ‘Truly Yours’ design package is going to be popular with both the leisure and business travelers.”

Town Pump said it retained most of the Shilo employees in Coeur d’Alene.
