Don’t flaunt pet laws

Mr. Ralph, the vet who was acquitted of disorderly conduct, states that he feels his was a win for all vets and that we all deserve the same respect as all people do. Rather empty words if you read the first story published.

In that article he states that business owners can only ask if an animal is a service dog and can’t inquire further. These days there are several pet owners that use this ploy to take their pets into grocery stores and other places of business pets have no business being in. The law is very clear; comfort animals are not allowed.

As a veteran with more than 20 years of service, I’m appalled to hear complaints about the VA or that vets are treated poorly. As someone who has owned and loved my pets over the years, I take great exception to people who abuse the law to bring pets into businesses.

Mr. Ralph’s comment that we all deserve respect seems very shallow when he has publicly stated he takes advantage of the loophole in the law to take his pet with him wherever he goes.

Responsible pet owners don’t flaunt laws, thus showing respect for pets and people
