Oregon police looking for missing university student
NEWBERG, Ore. – Police in Oregon are searching for a university student who has been missing since Saturday night.
Capt. Jeff Kosmicki of the Newberg-Dundee Police Department identified the student as 21-year-old Daniel Mellers of George Fox University.
Kosmicki said Mellers never returned after telling roommates he was walking to a convenience store to buy soda.
Police obtained information from Mellers’ cellphone provider that his phone was in Sherwood, about 10 miles northeast of the university. Sherwood police, however, couldn’t find him.
Kosmicki said Mellers’ car is believed to be at a repair shop. Investigators have not located it.
