Mariners Pregame: M’s look for five straight, lineups and starter matchup
The Seattle Mariners put a four-game win streak on the line in the second of a three-game series against the Miami Marlins.
Seattle is 6-7 all-time vs. the Marlins, including 4-3 in 7 games at Safeco Field, but just 2-2 as the home team against the Marlins. Seattle and Miami last met at Safeco Field in a three-game set, June 24-26, 2011. The Marlins played that series as the home team as the series was shifted from Sun Life Park in Miami to Safeco Field in Seattle due to a schedule conflict with a U2 concert.
Mariners rookie outfielder Mitch Haniger continues his hot start, as he’s ranked first (or tied for first) among rookies in the A.L. in hits (16), runs (12) RBIs (11) walks (9), extra-base hits (7), homers (4) and on-base percentage (.400), and is second in slugging (.564) and OPS (.964).
