Maryhill Winery plans to open a tasting room in Spokane this fall
Maryhill Winery plans to open a tasting room in Kendall Yards this fall.
It’s slated to encompass 5,000 square feet and offer a 180-degree view of the Spokane River and downtown Spokane. An outdoor balcony is included in the plans.
Wine club and other events, including live music, will be hosted at the outpost, which will be built in the heart of the Kendall Yards development on the north bank of the Spokane River.
Spokane natives Craig and Vicki Leuthold founded the winery in 1999 on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River Gorge in southwest Washington. Maryhill opened two years later when it debuted its first vintage.
It’s since become one of the most visited wineries in the state, drawing more than 75,000 wine lovers each year. It’s also one of the largest, producing some 80,000 cases annually.
Maryhill makes more than 50 wines. Its Goldendale facility includes a 3,000-square-foot tasting room and a 1,200-square-foot reserve room as well as a 4,000-seat amphitheater.
The award-winning winery was named the 2015 Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year by Wine Press Northwest and the 2014 Winery of the Year at the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
