Overview: Something’s got to give on homecoming in Moscow. The Vandals are 3-0 under coach Paul Petrino in homecoming games, but they’ll face what he says should be their toughest home opponent of the season in Troy, Alabama. The Trojans’ only loss came by six points at then-No. 2 Clemson. They rank 20th in the country in points per game (42.5) and 12th in red zone defense. “To be honest with you, I told our coaching staff and our players going into the year I thought they’d probably be our hardest home game, even going into the season, and obviously it kind of looks like it’ll be the case right now,” Petrino said. Another trend to watch: Idaho QB Matt Linehan, who hasn’t thrown an interception in three games and has just one on the year, will go against a Troy defense that leads the nation with 10 INTs and is second in passes defended with 32. UI quarterbacks coach Charley Molnar said Linehan has to “just play within himself. Don’t force the ball. Typically that’s not been his M.O. this year.”
