Thieves ram pot shop, steal bongs
Thieves rammed a North Spokane pot shop Tuesday morning and got away with $500 worth of bongs.
“They tried to kick in the door for a few minutes but that didn’t work,” said Katt Breach, manager of The Green Nugget. “I’m sure they did way more damage to the car than what they took.”
The owner of the marijuana shop, Scott O’Neil, said they took about $500 worth of bongs. He guesses it will cost between $10,000 and $15,000 to fix the wall. The shop was closed Tuesday, but reopened Wednesday morning.
The thieves didn’t get any marijuana, because it was locked in the store’s safe, O’Neil said.
Security cameras showed two men in their early 20s wearing hoodies jump out of the BMW. When they couldn’t kick the door in, the driver of the car backed into the wall. A neighbor heard the noise and called police, O’Neil said. In the year and a half the Green Nugget has been open O’Neil said it has been robbed several times.
“It’s kind of an industrywide problem that we are having,” he said. “It’s not just us.”
