Photo: Bon Marche sign removal

A sign crew dismantles the old Bon Marche sign which had hung on the angled face of the building on the northeast corner of the intersection of Main Ave. and Wall St. since the 1950s Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016. The three buildings which comprised the late department store, the Bon Marche, the Welch building and the Culbertson building, are being converted to apartments on the upper floors while offering retail space on the first and second floors. The buildings were recently purchased by Centennial Real Estate, a division of the Cowles Company, which also owns the Spokesman-Review. (Jesse Tinsley / The Spokesman-Review)
