2. ‘Chicago’

This classic is a universal tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz. The six-time Tony Award and Grammy winner will tackle the roaring ’20s with vaudeville flair. Directed by Abbey Crawford and featuring Quinn Vaira as Roxie Hart and Angela Pierson as Velma Kelly. | FULL STORY

3. Villalobos Brothers

Award-winning virtuoso violinists and vocalists Ernesto, Alberto and Luis headline the fourth annual Humanitas Festival with a concert where Mariachi meets jazz and classical. Contemporary high-octane Mexican fiddling.

4. Pianist George Winston

A veteran pianist with more than 15 albums to his name plays a variety of styles, including melodic folk piano, New Orleans R&B piano and stride piano. He also performs songs from his seasonal favorites.

The city of Spokane Valley’s family-oriented community event features entertainment on three stages, hot air balloons, a car show and other festivities. The bed races begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday along East Sprague Avenue between Unviersity and Bowdish roads, followed by the Hearts of Gold parade between Pines and University. Get your oompah on at Spokane’s celebration of all things Bavarian. Live music, singing, authentic German food, games, root beer garden and steins of Paulaner German beer. Benefits the German American Society of Spokane.
