Men’s soccer: Whitworth wins, Gonzaga loses

Jonah Snyder scored in the 87th minute to lift Whitworth over Linfield 1-0 on Sunday in Northwest Conference men’s soccer in Spokane.

Rylan Berriman sent a cross from the left endline over to Snyder who was able to finish for his seventh goal.

The Pirates (4-2, 2-0) had a 28-8 shot advantage over the Wildcats (0-6-1, 0-2).

UC Riverside (4-3) scored two goals early in the second half and beat No. 20 Gonzaga 2-1 in Riverside, California.

Autin Giftopoulos headed in the lone goal for the Bulldogs (5-2-1) in the 86th minute off an assist from Ben White.
