Spokane bank robber claims to have gun, flees with cash
A man claiming to be armed with a handgun robbed the Washington Trust bank in downtown Spokane on Monday afternoon, and police have asked for help identifying a culprit.
The robbery occurred just after 4:30 p.m. at the Washington Trust branch at 706 W. Second Ave. Police described the robber as a white male in his 30s, about 6-foot-2 with a thin build. He wore a light-blue, button-up, long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
The man allegedly handed a note to the teller indicating he had a gun and demanded money, police said.
He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was injured.
Officers arrived on scene within a minute of the report, but the man was gone.
