Gonzaga, Idaho, EWU picked up women’s soccer victories

Kelly Bieraugel scored in the fifth minute and that early goal stood up in Gonzaga’s 1-0 women’s soccer victory over Montana in Missoula on Sunday.

Bieraugel scored her first collegiate goal from 10 yards out, taking a cross from Taylor Kernion.

The Bulldogs (4-2-1) had a 15-3 edge in shots allowed the held the host Grizzlies (4-2-1) to just one shot on goal.

Idaho 1, Boise State 0: Kavita Battan scored her first goal of the season and it gave the Vandals (3-2-2) the victory over the Broncos (1-6-0) in Boise.

Battan’s goal came in the 21st minute. Torell Stewart made five saves in the shutout.

The victory is the Vandals’ first in Boise since 2003.

Eastern Washington 3, Saint Mary’s 1: Maia Inniss, Chloe Williams and Brooke Dunbar all scored in the first 14:04 of the match and the Eagles (5-2) beat the Gaels (1-6-1) in Moraga, California.

The goals were the first collegiate scores for Inniss and Dunbar. Williams picked up her fourth goal this season and is tied for first on EWU’s all-time points list at 55 with Cassie Black (2011-14). Aimie Inthoulay assisted on Inniss’ goal for her sixth assist in three matches.

Carroll 2, Whitworth 0: The Saints (3-3) blanked the Pirates (1-3) in Helena. Carroll outshot Whitworth 16-8 and Saints goalkeeper Jamie Carter made six saves.
