Erik Powell ended his dubious streak of missed field goals in a big way, making a pair of 36-yarders in a downpour. Powell put WSU on the board first against UCLA, and started a new streak.
Offensive player of the game …
River Cracraft is back. After an atypically rough first week, the inside receiver has once again emerged as one of Luke Falk’s most reliable weapons. Cracraft led the Cougars with six catches for 74 yards on this rainy day, including a couple that no one could have faulted him for not bringing in.
Defensive player of the game …
Dylan Hanser started in place of Logan Tago at rush linebacker with Tago suspended, and came up huge for the Cougars. Hanser forced a pair of fumbles, including one on UCLA’s penultimate drive that made closing out the win much easier for WSU.
