Man gets 32 years for shooting Fife couple

TACOMA – A man has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for fatally shooting a Fife couple after an argument about drugs.

The News Tribune reported that 23-year-old Brett Dollens was sentenced Monday to 32 years in prison after previously pleading guilty to first-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter for the deaths of 23-year-old Daniel Miller and 22-year-old Charissa Dobbins.

Miller and Dobbins were found dead on Dec. 7 at their home in Fife.

According to court documents, Miller sold drugs had had been feuding with Dollens after accusing the other man of stealing his Percocet. Dollens told investigators he had gone to the couple’s home to apologize, but Miller confronted him with a gun.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said there were no signs of a struggle.
