Key moment
For the third straight game, an early attack by the Zags set the pace as they would cruise to another victory.
Gonzaga had taken a two point lead in the first half following a 3-pointer by Silas Melson at the 16:37 mark. However, Nigel Williams-Goss scored the next nine points for the Zags, extending the lead to 10.
Williams-Goss had two layups, a jump shot, and three free throws to account for the nine points. Bryant would only score a free throw in the span of Williams-Goss’ baskets.
Offensive Player of the Game
Przemek Karnowski led Gonzaga with a season high 22 points on Friday, nearly tripling his total from the San Diego State game. Karnowski also scored the first eight points for the Zags. He shot 9 of 13 on field goals and went 4 of 8 from the free-throw line.
Defensive Player of the Game
Gonzaga’s Silas Melson took the challenge and shutdown Bryant guard Adam Grant in the second half. After Grant scored 17 points in the first half, Melson put the clamps down on the BU guard before the Zags finished the half in a zone. Grant was scoreless after halftime and was limited to just three shots during the second half. Melson finished with one steal and one defensive rebound on Friday.
