Conquer garbage talk
The choice is ours: Continue to let politicians lead us around by the nose, by slandering opponents, or we can make it known this garbage talk must stop. Slander is not free speech; it is meant to poison minds, keep people from hearing what a candidate has to offer.
(Free speech is a right for individuals to express their beliefs. It wasn’t intended to belittle or lie about others. If there is no evidence that could hold up in a court of law, no individual should be permitted to nonchalantly claim it as truth. The excuse that politicians have “always done this” never has been valid.) If rational men and women, leaders in the media and government, do not stand up and renounce this horrible “yellow journalism,” we will pay the price of losing our American way of life.
We are too intertwined in each state to separate into two countries. I have many friends that are on the opposite side of my beliefs, but we refuse to let our differences pull us apart. We must conquer this together, or all go down together.
