This is the third matchup between San Diego State and Gonzaga, with the last meeting taking place in 2010. The Aztecs, coached by Steve Fisher, came to Spokane and beat the Zags 79-76 behind 30 points from Billy White. Kawhi Leonard added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Aztecs’ win.
For Gonzaga, Steven Gray scored 35 points, including 14 of the Bulldogs’ last 15 points. Gray’s last-second shot for the tie fell short.
