Gonzaga junior Nigel Williams-Goss is on the watch list for the Naismith Trophy, awarded to college basketball’s player of the year.

Williams-Goss is the lone representative from the West Coast Conference on the 50-player watch list.

Williams-Goss played two years at Washington, earning All-Pac-12 honors each season, before transferring to Gonzaga. He sat out last season under NCAA transfer rules.

The 6-foot-3 point guard from Happy Valley, Oregon, scored a team-high 20 points in Gonzaga’s exhibition win over West Georgia. He averaged 15.6 points, 5.9 assists and 4.7 assists as a sophomore at Washington.

Williams-Goss is also on the watch list for the Bob Cousy Award (top point guard).
