Vehrs fair-minded, consistent

This ugly national election has shown us how important it is to have thoughtful and principled elected leaders representing us here at home. We need local candidates to reject Donald Trump’s damaging divisiveness and disavow his failed bid for the presidency. Lynnette Vehrs immediately stood up to Trump’s bully tactics in her fight for a healthier, more secure and functional Spokane.

Mike Volz, Lynnette’s opponent, however, has failed to withdraw his support from Trump. He says that as a husband and father, he is “deeply concerned” by the comments made by Trump, yet he refuses to withdraw his endorsement. If Mike Volz can’t stand on the right side of history in the interest of women everywhere, how can we expect him to stand up for our interests in Olympia?

We need a representative that will put people above party, and Mike Volz has shown us that he is not even willing to stand by his own principles in the presidential race. For voters looking for a fair-minded, consistent candidate, Lynnette Vehrs is the clear winner to replace Kevin Parker in the statehouse.
