Silverwood opens for the season on Saturday

Silverwood Theme Park north of Coeur d’Alene will open for its 29th season Saturday.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, moms accompanied by paying families will be admitted free this weekend. The general admission price is $38. Seniors 65 and older and kids ages 3-7 pay $21.

Silverwood’s anniversary weekend is May 14 and 15. Admission will be $19.88 per person in recognition of the park’s opening in 1988.

On May 21-22, admission will be discounted $14 per ticket. And Silverwood celebrates American Heroes Weekend on May 28-30. All military personnel, veterans, police officers and firefighters get in free, with identification, and their families pay a discounted rate.

Silverwood is the largest theme park and water park in the Northwest, covering 221 acres and featuring more than 70 rides, slides and attractions. It’s located at 27843 Highway 95 in Athol.

Boulder Beach Water Park will open June 4 with a new mat-racing water slide, Riptide Racer, that stands nearly 60 feet tall.
