A 22-year-old man is thought to have drowned at Palouse Falls Sunday, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says.
Three people were swimming at the base of the falls at about 5:20 p.m. when “all three appeared to start having trouble,” a news release said.
Bystanders rescued two of the people, but the third person wasn’t found.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a dive rescue team and MedStar all responded to the scene in southeast Washington state.
“Efforts are underway to locate and recover the possible drowning victim,” the news release said.
