Obituary: Yates, Ann Elizabeth (Hennings)
Age 96
YATES, Ann Elizabeth
(Hennings)
Ann was born August 13, 1919 to Elizabeth and Herman Hennings of Sprague, WA passed out of this life December 18, 2015.
How does one adequately honor, rejoice, and mourn the passing of this great woman in a few inches of text?
Ann, known to many as Annie, Mom, Grammy, and Auntie Ann was a deep well of love and joy to those whose lives she touched.
Born and raised in Sprague, WA, she settled in Spokane, WA.
Having been raised in a farming family, you can take the girl from the farm, but the farm never leaves the girl.
Ann participated and rode in round-ups well into her 80s.
She lived a life of family and community service, participating in many clubs and volunteering as dispatcher for her local fire department.
Ann was a historian who tirelessly wrote and recorded the lives of those who came before and recording in real time, the daily events of those she loved.
Her life revolved around one simple word - Family.
Her absence in our lives has left a hole the size of her heart.
The love she showered on us all is a light that helps us to rejoice in the life she lived and the memories left behind.
Ann is survived by her sister Freda; brother Willard and his wife Pat; daughter Linda and her husband Pierre, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is being held on Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Moran Prairie Grange.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakota (Sioux) St. Joseph’s Indian School www.stjo.org
