Female teacher charged with sending sex videos to male students

By Kristin M. Kraemer Tri-City Herald

A Kennewick middle school teacher was charged Wednesday with sending sexually explicit photos and videos to male students.

Tonie Ann Reiboldt, 43, a Horse Heaven Hills Middle School physical education teacher, appeared Wednesday in Benton County Superior Court on the charge.

Kennewick police received a tip on June 15 that a sexually explicit video of a woman was being distributed to underage kids through Snapchat, a social media app.

Then, police learned the woman was a Kennewick School District teacher.

Kennewick Sgt. Ken Lattin said the investigation has revealed that several boys under 16 were sent the videos. “At this time, we do not have any specific information concerning the suspect having actual physical contact with any of the victims,” Lattin said in a release.

She is charged with three counts of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, a felony.

She has been at Horse Heaven Hills Middle School since 2003, and previously taught math.

“The Kennewick School District has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to inappropriate employee behaviors, especially those involving students. Upon learning about the alleged misconduct by an employee to a student, the district immediately placed the employee on administrative leave and took steps to ensure that the accused was notified to have no further contact with students,” said a district release.

“Our district is fully cooperating with the Kennewick Police Department in the active investigation. The safety of our students is paramount. We take this situation seriously, and our administration is working diligently to take the strongest possible action to ensure our schools are safe places for students.”

Anyone with more information related to the case is asked to contact Kennewick police Detective Joe Santoy at 509-585-4208.
