Walgreens is installing a medication disposal kiosk at one of its Spokane stores as part of a push to combat prescription drug abuse.

The kiosk is now available at the pharmacy chain’s North Spokane store, 7905 N. Division St., during pharmacy hours, 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. People can drop off unused or expired medications, including prescription drugs, narcotic prescriptions and over the counter medication.

People do not need to speak to a pharmacist to dispose of their medications.

Kiosks are also available at one store in Pasco and a number of pharmacies in western Washington.

Walgreens also announced earlier this year they plan to begin offering opioid overdose reversal drug naloxone at Washington and Idaho pharmacies without a prescription.
