Achievements: Inland Northwest residents earn academic honors

Students from the Inland Northwest have earned academic honors nationwide for the winter and spring 2016 semesters. Grade-point averages are calculated on a 4.0 scale, unless otherwise noted. Students are listed by their hometowns.

Winter semester honors

Eastern Oregon University, in La Grande, has named area residents to the dean’s list for earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or more.

Chewelah: Taylor Smith.

Colville: Colton Vining.

Liberty Lake: Megan Dimmler.

Medical Lake: Krystina Bryant.

Post Falls: Michael Hillman, Rayanne Hoopes.

Spokane: Valerie Gaffney, Emma Kost.

Wilbur: William Putman.

Several local residents have also been named to the honor roll at Oregon State University, in Corvallis, for earning a GPA or 3.5 or more.

Moses Lake: Aida Bravo, Sarah Heyer.

Newport: Adele Cauchy.

Pullman: Courtney Marlow.

Spokane: Taylor Hellman, Taylor Kirkpatrick, Monica Mueller, Kendra Pierce, Russell Pochis, Jenae Schrader, Colton Sheets, Conner Slater, Lauren Sweigart.

Spokane Valley: Stephen Lucas.

Spokane resident Jessica Fisher earned a 3.933 GPA for the semester and was named to the honor roll at Central Washington University’s College of Arts and Humanities in Ellensburg.

Spring semester honors

Belmont University, in Nashville, Tennessee, has named Spokane residents Delaney Gold and Abigail Graham to the dean’s list after they earned a GPA of 3.5 or more.

Berry College, in Mount Berry, Georgia, named Madeline Jarvis, of Greenacres, to the dean’s list for earning a GPA of 3.5 or more.

Spokane resident Natalya Ferch earned a GPA of 3.9 or more for the semester and has been named to the president’s honor roll at Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The university has also named Spokane resident Joseph Lyons to the dean’s honor roll after he earned a GPA of 3.5 or more.

Peter Christensen, of Otis Orchards, and Jonathan Deak, of Hayden, have earned a 3.5 GPA or more for the semester and were named to the dean’s list at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.

St. Cloud State University, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, named Spokane Valley residents Jordan Zumwalt and Ryan Zumwalt to the dean’s list for earning a GPA of 3.75 or more.

Brandon Matlock, of Spokane Valley, has made the dean’s list at Grand View University, in Des Moines, Iowa, after he achieved a 3.5 GPA or more for the semester.

Deer Park resident Blake Harlan earned a 4.0 GPA for the semester at Warner Pacific College, in Portland, and was named to the dean’s list.

Spokane Valley resident Mia Davis was named to the president’s list at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, in Fergus Falls, for earning a GPA of 3.5 or more.

Baylor University, in Waco, Texas, has named several Inland Northwest residents to the dean’s list for the spring semester. Students must earn a GPA of 3.7 or more to be named to the list.

Coeur d’Alene: Cameron Cardenas II.

Colfax: Lindsay Webber.

Spokane: Sophia Calhoun, Stephanie Endicott, Brian Hafferkamp, Katherine Lovell, MacArthur Peterson.

South Dakota State University, in Brookings, has named Spokane Valley resident Kaitlyn Venner to the dean’s list for earning a 3.5 GPA or more.
