Area roundup: Vandals promote Josh Davis

Idaho Vandals women’s soccer head coach Derek Pittman promoted Josh Davis to associate head coach, the team announced on Friday.

“I consider myself very fortunate to be surrounded by a top-notch coaching staff and Josh is a big part of what we do here at Idaho and is deserving of this title change,” said Pittman.

Davis helped the Vandals post the largest turnaround in the nation during the 2015 season. Idaho finished 14-4-3 overall – a ten-game improvement from 2014 – and had a record 9-0-1 mark in winning the Big Sky Conference. Davis helped the Vandals set program records in goals (44), assists (56) and points (144).

“I’m excited,” said Davis. “We’ll still do the same tasks and everything else, but it really is exciting and I really do appreciated the fact that Derek was willing to give me that.”
