Obituary: Druffel, Jessie Amalia
DRUFFEL,
Jessie Amalia
(Age 80)
Jessie Druffel, known by many as “Grandma Jessie,” died Thursday, January 28, 2016 peacefully with her family by her side.
She was born and raised in Colton, the daughter of Albert and Mary Jane Lang Guettinger.
Growing up, Jessie enjoyed spending time with her brothers Dave and Jack, cooking with her mother, sewing, and going out dancing with Norm.
Jessie married the love of her life, Norm Druffel in June of 1953.
The two were inseparable.
They began farming together in Colton in 1954 after Norm’s military service.
In 1973 Norm Druffel and Sons was created as their four sons returned home to the family farm.
For many years, Jessie took care of the books for the family farm and DJT Trucking Company.
Over the years, she was involved with the Altar Society of Sacred Heart Parish, the Catholic Daughters of America, and Clinton Thimble and Needle Club.
She was a “firecracker,” loving life, her children and grandchildren, farming, hosting nightly happy hour, and caring for friends and family in need.
She enjoyed spending early mornings with Norm helping fix trucks and feed cows, and checking their crops.
She was always willing to lend a helping hand whether making meals for the farming crew or others in need, watching the grandkids everyday after school, or running endless errands for Norm and her boys.
She was a friend to many, providing a listening ear and always adding a smile to your face.
Jessie’s endless love of others and dedication to family, friends, and farming have always been an inspiration to her family and anyone who had an opportunity to meet her.
The legacy that Jessie and her husband Norm have created will be felt for generations to come.
Jessie is survived by her son Wayne his wife Karna, their children Kurt (wife Sarah, children Christopher and Matthew), Jackie (husband Jeremy, and daughter Zoey); son Roy his wife Debbie, children Shawna (husband Jon, children Brianna and Ty), Dusty (wife Jackie, son Colt), Alisa, Jay, and Tia; son Ken his wife Cheryl, children Rob (wife Katy, daughter Savannah), Paige, and Jeremy; son Mark his wife Lorie, children Danielle (husband Jake, son Isaac, and daughter Aspen), Cory (husband Cody), Annalisa, and Sam; nieces that she raised Lisa Watson and Stacy Sharp.
