Denny Robert
December 25, 1932 - February 8, 2016
Denny Robert Denison, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on February 8, 2016.
He was born one of 11 children to Jess and Clara Denison on December 25, 1932 at home on the Spokane Indian Reserva-tion.
In 1951 Denny graduated high school in Hunters, WA, married Georgene Hill shortly after, and enlisted in the Naval Air Force, serving during the Korean War.
He was honorably discharged in 1955 after the birth of his first and second sons, Rick and Roger.
Denny and Georgene raised their four children, Rick, Roger, Tina, and Curtis in Los Angeles before returning home to the Spokane Indian Reservation in May of 1989.
During his lifetime, he worked and retired from The Southern California Gas Company in Los Angeles and the Two Rivers Casino on the Spokane Indian Reservation.
For many years, he performed professionally with his band in Southern California, rubbing elbows with some of the greats in the industry.
He carried his love of music and performance with him to the Reservation and continued playing professionally for many years.
He was a gifted guitar player and singer/songwriter until arthritis made it difficult for him to play, at which time, he continued recording his original music, along with covers of his favorites, in his home.
He will be remembered for charismatic personality, love of classic car restoration, strength of will, incredible work ethic, unique sense of humor, and the incredible love and dedication he had for his family.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Clara Denison, siblings, Wilma, Jessie, and Grant, his son, Roger, son-in-law, Steve, granddaughter, Katelyn, and great-grandson, Raymond Jr.
