Paul C. Wood, affectionately referred to as “Hoot”, age 93, passed away on January 24, 2016, at Hospice House North in Spokane where he was respectfully attended by their outstanding and considerate caregivers.

He also leaves grandchildren: Robert, Paul, Sarah, Brianna, and Kristin; as well as great-grandchildren, Payton, Colston, Weston, Abigail, and Kennedie.
Born on November 7, 1922, to George Elmer Wood and Anna Mary Wood in Ft. Collins, Colorado, Paul was the youngest of four children.

As a young man, Paul worked at Seattle Boeing Plant building B17-Bombers until joining the United States Navy in 1943 where he served on the USS Attala (APA-130) from December 1 1944 until December 1 1945.

Residents of Spokane picked cherries at Woody’s U-Pick Orchard for over three decades.
Paul enjoyed the cherry farm operations, producing beautiful cherries, and interacting with the customers, some of whom became close friends.
In the final years, Paul could be seen motoring about the farm on his golf cart with his dog pal, Harley, riding at his side.
