STOCKTON, Calif. – Meet Przemek Karnowski, point center.

OK, that may be stretching the Zags center’s job description but he did a pretty fair job of distributing the ball, racking up seven of the team’s 22 assists in Gonzaga’s 81-61 win over Pacific on Saturday.

“For getting doubled all night, he did a great job of delivering the ball without turning it over,” Few said, “because there’s a tendency to try to thread the needle once in a while. You need to once in a while but he also just found the open man time and time again.”

The 7-foot-1, 300-pound Karnowski had an impact at the defensive end, too. He didn’t block a shot but he redirected numerous attempts off target by holding his ground near the rim and extending his arms skyward.

“He was really good around the hoop, especially on their big bodies trying to post,” Few said. “And then protecting the rim against a lot of their guard penetration.”
