Gonzaga-Pepperdine key matchups

Pepperdine’s Lamond Murray Jr. has shot nearly 48 percent on 3-point attempts this season. (Young Kwak / Associated Press)

Senior wing Lamond Murray Jr.’s 19.3-point average leads the Waves and ranks third in the WCC. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound son of former Cal and NBA player Lamond Murray can be a tough matchup with his size and versatility. He shoots nearly the same percentage on 2-point shots (47.0) as 3-pointers (47.8).

Murray, a 1,000-point career scorer, will probably see a rotation of defenders, including Silas Melson and possibly Jeremy Jones, the 6-6 wing who returned recently from an ankle injury. Murray has had mixed success in six career games against the Zags with three double-digit games but just a 7.7-point average.
