Gonzaga has dominated Pepperdine, winning the last 31 meetings

Gonzaga has dominated Pepperdine, winning the last 31 meetings.

This will be the 83rd matchup between the two schools. Gonzaga leads the all-time series 51-31, including 18 in a row in Spokane. The Zags have also won all 13 played in the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Head coach Mark Few is 35-2 against the Waves.

Gonzaga narrowly escaped an upset with a three-point win at Malibu in the last meeting. Domantas Sabonis had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a 69-66 victory on February 7, 2016. Josh Perkins also added ten points, six rebounds, and five assists.

The first meeting between the two schools was on December 11, 1964, in Portland, Oregon, at the Knights of Columbus Tournament. The Zags won 93-70.

This is the West Coast Conference opener for the Bulldogs, and they have won 20 straight games to open conference play. The last loss in a conference opener was against Santa Clara in 1996.

Mark Few is 17-0 in conference openers during his tenure at Gonzaga.

Last season, the Zags opened conference play with a 99-73 home win over Pepperdine.
