Area boys: Jared Anderson’s double-double leads Pullman over West Valley
Jared Anderson scored 23 points with 15 rebounds and visiting Pullman (5-2, 1-1) defeated West Valley (4-3, 2-1) 69-49 in Great Northern League action on Friday night.
Pullman trailed by a point after the first quarter, but used a 25-6 second quarter run to lead 35-17 at intermission. West Valley trimmed 12 points off its deficit in the third, but Pullman put it away with an 18-4 fourth quarter.
Jacob Wells scored 17 points and Jake Cillay added 14 for the Greyhounds.
West Valley’s leading scorer was Collin Sather with 27 points, and Collin Whitney added 11.
East Valley 55, Cheney 50: Eli Holecek scored 16 points with 12 rebounds and the visiting Knights (2-5, 1-2) edged the Blackhawks (2-3, 0-2).
Jeremiah Hillard had 15 points for East Valley.
Cheney was led by Jaylen Worthem and Anthony Ehrenberg, who scored 17 and 16 points respectively. Ehrenberg added eight boards.
Northeast A
Freeman 72, Lakeside (WA) 40: Michael Coumont had 24 points, five steals, two blocks and four assists to lead the Scotties (6-0, 3-0) past the visiting Eagles (3-4, 2-1).
Freeman, which shot 10 of 18 from beyond the arc, ended the first half on an 8-0 run and started the second with an 11-2 run to effectively seal the game.
Ryan Maine scored 15 points for the Scotties.
Medical Lake 69, Deer Park 55: Nizhole Sherman scored 20 points with eight rebounds and the Cardinals (6-0, 3-0) beat the visiting Stags (1-4, 1-2).
Xavier Butler scored 18 points and Skyler Johnson grabbed eight rebounds, while Trenton Garza had 10 assists.
Deer Park was led by Austin Wisinger with 19 points.
Colville 69, Riverside 56: Kobe Cunningham scored 19 points to push the visiting Indians (3-4, 1-2) past the Rams (2-5, 0-3).
Colville led by three, 35-32, at halftime. After the break Colville shot 62 percent from the 3-point line. Devin Lembcke scored 16 points for Colville.
Kory Cross led Riverside with 19 points while Mikel Bias added 10.
Newport 45, Chewelah 36: Danny Bradbury did the heavy lifting with 24 points and 11 rebounds in the Grizzlies’ (3-2, 1-1) defeat of visiting Chewelah (3-3, 0-3).
Koa Pancho scored 10 points and Kade Zorica had four assists for Newport.
Northeast 2B
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 68, Tekoa-Rosalia 47: Patrick Bartz scored 15 points and the visiting Broncos (4-2, 3-1) defeated the Timberwolves (1-5, 0-4).
David Ziebell pulled down 10 rebounds to go with his 14 points and Camden Smith added 11 for LRS.
Rosalia’s Mike Greybeck led all scorers with 17 points.
St. George’s 62, Springdale 52: Erik Farias had another big night posting 23 points, five assists, seven steals and five rebounds to help the Dragons (4-2, 3-1) defeat the visiting Chargers (4-2, 2-2).
Springdale led 12-6 after the first quarter, but St. George’s forced 29 turnovers. Zac Steele scored 17 points for the Dragons.
Tyrone Dorris scored 16 points, while Chandler Carr and Austin Howder added 15 points apiece for Springdale.
Northwest Christian 64, Wilbur-Creston 32: Ryan Ricks scored 21 points and the visiting Crusaders (4-0, 4-0) got out quickly and defeated the Wildcats (1-4, 1-3).
Northwest Christian raced out to a 19-8 lead after the first quarter and led 35-20 at intermission. Nolan Burns had 14 points and Rolf Veenstra added 11 for NWC.
W-C was led by Tucker Odegaard with nine.
Colfax 59, Reardan 41: Carson Cloaninger scored 19 points and the visiting Bulldogs (3-2, 2-1) defeated the Indians (1-1, 1-1).
Danny Robinson added 17 points for Colfax, which jumped out to a commanding 23-point lead after the first quarter that proved too much for Reardan to overcome.
Reardan was led by Tyler Sprecher with 17 points.
Liberty 64, Asotin 60: Tyler Haas scored 21 points to lead the visiting Lancers (2-3, 2-1) past the Panthers (2-1, 2-1).
In a game with a lot of fouls, Liberty made 33 of 46 free throws. Thomas Redder made the final points of the game on technical free throws.
Isaac Ottmar scored 12 points for Liberty. while Brandon Holling added nine rebounds and four assists.
Asotin was led by Koby Blunt with 23 points.
Davenport 44, Kettle Falls 35: Jaden Flett had 14 points to help the visiting Gorillas (2-4, 2-2) defeat the Bulldogs (2-4, 0-4).
A.J. Floyd scored 11 points and Tanner Abbott added 10 for Davenport. Kyle Keenan and Matt Thompson paced Kettle Falls with 10 points apiece.
Northeast 1B
Wellpinit 74, Columbia 41: Alfonso Salinas scored 25 points and Brandon Flett had 23 to lead the visiting Redskins (4-0, 3-0) past the Lions (2-4, 2-2).
Wellpinit used a great second quarter to push the game wide open, outscoring Columbia 20-4. Devon Pascal added 17 points for the Redskins.
Columbia was led by Darrin Bloomquist with 10 points.
Selkirk 43, Curlew 39: Jacob Couch had 17 points and 18 rebounds to help the Rangers (5-1, 5-0) defeat the visiting Panthers (0-7, 0-5).
Selkirk used a 13-6 third quarter run to break open a tight one and withstood a 14-10 run by Curlew in the fourth. Austin Robertson also had six steals for Selkirk.
Sam Wright led Curlew with 12 points and Justin Hanks added 10.
Inchelium 52, Republic 40: Terrance Holford scored 10 points to lead a balanced attack and the Hornets (3-2, 3-1) defeated the visiting Tigers (4-3, 2-2) 52-40 on Friday.
Cusick 65, Northport 29: Colton Hansen led all scorers with 15 points and had six steals and the Panthers (2-4, 2-2) put the game out of reach early and beat the visiting Mustangs (4-4, 2-3).
Cameron Carter pulled down 12 rebounds to go with his 14 points for Cusick, which raced out to a 24-8 lead after the first quarter.
Odessa-Harrington 71, Valley Christian 19: Ryan Moffett scored 32 points, fellow freshman Camden Weber added 16 and the Titans (1-1, 1-1) routed the visiting Panthers (0-7, 0-5).
Southeast 1B
Garfield-Palouse 62, Colton 55: Mason Bates scored 23 points with 13 rebounds and the Vikings (4-1, 2-0) beat the visiting Wildcats (0-4, 0-2).
Garfield-Palouse led 29-28 at intermission and used a 21-12 third quarter to gain the advantage. Eli Hawkins scored 13 points for the Vikings.
Brady Chadwick had 22 points, Reece Chadwick added 11 and Matt Wolf had 10 for Colton.
Oakesdale 54, St. John-Endicott 37: Cal Gregory scored 16 points to help the Nighthawks (3-3, 1-1) defeat the visiting Eagles (0-4, 0-2).
Kieron Anderson added 12 points for Oakesdale and Jacob Himes scored 10 points, shooting 5 of 7 from the field.
Griffin Perish led SJ-E with 13 points and Cooper Lumberg had 10.
Pomeroy 67, Waitsburg 45: Ryan Wolf and Jace Gwynn scored 13 points apiece and the Pirates (3-1, 2-0) beat visiting the visiting Cardinals (0-1, 0-1).
Jacob Dunn led Waitsburg with 17 points and Kyle Gradwohl added 15.
Nonleague
Clarkston 49, Lakeland 35: Campbell Winter led the visiting Bantams (5-2) with 11 points in a victory over the Hawks (2-5).
Kaden Davis brought in 16 points and five assists and Jared Cysewski scored five points with 12 rebounds for Lakeland.
Bonners Ferry 66, Sandpoint 57: Caleb Harrington scored 19 points, Chris Sabin had 18 and Kaleb Stockton added 12 and the Badgers (3-3) defeated the visiting Bulldogs (1-5).
Up by one point at half, Bonners Ferry put up 43 points to Sandpoint’s 25 in the second half, committing only one turnover.
Sandpoint was led by Alex Stockton with 14 points and Taran McGaughlin with 13.
