After a flurry of reports on Friday that Donald Trump was about to announce Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers as his pick for Interior secretary, Trump has been mum about her potential appointment.

As those stories were published Friday by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and others, McMorris Rodgers fell silent on social media.

On Monday, McMorris Rodgers was interviewed on C-SPAN after meeting with Trump in Trump Tower. Asked what they talked about during the meeting, McMorris Rodgers didn’t directly answer the question.

“Well, we talked about a lot of things,” she told C-SPAN. “It’s always an honor to spend time with the president-elect and I walk away just reminded that he’s a man of action and I’m very enthusiastic about the leadership that he is bringing.”

When asked a follow-up question about the Interior Department, the congresswoman had already walked away.

McMorris Rodgers was back on social media on Saturday, tweeting about the Army-Navy football game and the Faster Care for Veterans Act, which directs the Veterans Administration to start a pilot program in at least three of the VA’s 21 service areas to allow veterans to schedule medical appointments online. McMorris Rodgers was co-sponsor of the bill, which enjoyed strong bipartisan support and was approved by the House and Senate last week on voice votes.
