Accept Syrian refugees
One of the important situations facing our country is the Syrian refugee crisis. America is a country of opportunity and safety; it’s our duty as Americans to embrace anyone in need. We must let Syrian refugees into America.
Although there is risk involved with letting refugees into our country, the possibilities are slim. It is easier for terrorists to infiltrate the United States through student or tourist visas. It’s difficult to obtain a refugee status because it takes up to two years and has multiple stages of background checks. It makes no sense for terrorists to “pretend” to be refugees.
This is an issue of moral obligation. During World War II, America turned away Jews because we were afraid that Nazi spies could be hiding among them. We sent people back to concentration camps and certain death because we were scared. We need to stay strong and set an example for countries around the world.
We need to continue to let Syrian refugees into the country. Share what you know with your friends and family, sign petitions, donate. Do whatever you can to let Syrian refugees into the country.
