Key moment
Nigel Williams-Goss delivered a pair of baskets when Arizona was in comeback mode late in the second half. The junior guard took 7-footer Lauri Markkanen inside for a field goal with 3:15 remaining to put GU up 62-54. The Wildcats were within five with 1:08 left when Williams-Goss scored again on a drive into the lane.
Offensive Player of the Game
Przemek Karnowski had one of the best days of his career, scoring 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Arizona rarely doubled the 7-foot-1 center, giving Karnowski time to set up left- and right-handed jump hooks. He also made a fadeaway jumper from 10 feet.
Defensive Player of the Game
The Zags limited 7-footer Lauri Markkanen to 4-of-14 shooting and 14 points, four below his average. Johnathan Williams, Killian Tillie and Zach Collins took turns on the talented freshman and GU played zone for stretches. Collins and Tillie combined to block three Markkanen shots.
