Whitworth joins other local colleges urging Trump to keep immigration program for students
Whitworth University President Beck Taylor has added his name to a long list of colleges urging President-elect Donald Trump not to eliminate a federal program that protects nearly 750,000 undocumented immigrants from deportation.
Whitworth follows Washington State University, Gonzaga University and more than a dozen other Northwest schools. As of Friday afternoon, the open letter to Trump’s administration had 467 signatures, up from 441 on Thursday. President Barack Obama created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program by executive order in 2012.
