Boys basketball: Lewis and Clark beats North Medford at The Fitz

Naje Smith scored 21 points on eight field goals with three 3-pointers to help Lewis and Clark to a 62-58 victory over North Medford in the sixth annual Fitz Memorial Basketball Tournament, honoring the memory of legendary basketball coach Dan Fitzgerald, at Lewis and Clark on Friday.

Dedrick Pakootas earned 16 points on seven field goals and was 1of 2 on free throws for Lewis and Clark.

Joey Hunter scored 10 points for North Medford.

Lake City 59, West Valley 49: Kenny Louie-McGee led all scorers with 21 points and the Timberwolves topped the visiting Eagles.

James Carlson added 19 points for Lake City.

Collin Sather paced WV with 13 points.

Cheney 60, North Central 54: Jaylen Worthem scored 11 points, Devin Cook added 10 and the visiting Blackhawks topped the Indians.

Cheney outscored NC 18-6 in the second quarter to wrest control of the game. Leon Sayers kept North Central alive with17 points.

Tekoa-Rosalia 50, St. John’s-Endicott 36: Kade Holling scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and the Timberwolves defeated the visiting Eagles.

Newport 43, St. George’s 40: Koa Pancho had 23 points with six reobunds, and sank a pair of free throws with time winding down, to help the visiting Grizzlies (1-1) get past the Dragons (1-1).

Cade Peplinski and Erik Farias led St. George’s with 18 points apiece and Peplinski grabbed 10 rebounds.

St. George’s was 8 of 20 from the line.

Colfax 58, Colton 37: Carson Cloaniger hit four of his six 3-pointers in the second quarter, and finished with 27 points to lead the Bulldogs over the visiting Wildcats.

Brady Chadwick had 11 for Colton.

Kittitas 83, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 37: Brock Revet had an outstanding night scoring 40 total points in Kittitas’ win over the visiting Warriors.

Mac Isaac led ACH with 18 points.

Riverside at Priest River: Hunter Hartwig scored 19 points and the Spartans (2-0) beat the visiting Rams.

Mikel Bias paced Riverside with 16 points.

Chewelah 58, Cusick 34: Owen Baldwin scored 14 points and the visiting Cougars defeated the Panthers (0-1).

Colton Hansen led the way for Cusick with 12 points.

Dayton 62, Oakesdale 54: Tanner Bren scored 30 points and visiting Dayton beat the Nighthawks.

Kieron Anderson had 17 points for Oakesdale and Zach Bryan grabbed 10 rebounds.

Kettle Falls 63, Northport 29: Cade McKern led had 13 points to help the visiting Bulldogs over the Mustangs.

Aiden Middlesworth scored nine points for Northport, while Dakota Crumpler scored 12 points for Kettle Falls.

Lakeland 73, Colville 58: Dylan Knight scored 16 points, Josiah Haaland pulled down nine rebounds to go with 12 points and the Hawks outlasted the visiting Indians.

Colville’s Devin Lembke led all scorers with 21 points.

Selkirk 62, Valley Christian 27: Jacob Couch scored 27 points and the visiting Rangers defeated the Panthers in a Northeast 1B league game.

Springdale 84, Columbia 36: Chandler Carr scored 28 points and the Chargers (2-0) routed the visiting Lions.

Austin Howder had 16 points and Tyrone Dorris added 13 points for Springdale.

Kellogg 88, Mullan 30: Toby Colburn led Kellogg with nine boards and five assists while going 5 of 5 from the field for 10 points to help the Wildcats rout the visiting Tigers.

Trevor Bumgardner led the team in scoring with 17.

Wallace 73, Bonners Ferry 48: Zach Welch scored 21 points and the Miners routed the Badgers.
