Man wanted for sex crimes arrested in Arizona
A man wanted for sex crimes against children was arrested near Phoenix last week.
Douglas Scyphers is facing charges of rape of a child in the first, second and third degree, possession of sexually explicit depictions of a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor. He was out of jail awaiting trial when he violated the conditions of his release, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. A warrant for his arrest was issued in July 2015.
Detectives learned in September that Scyphers’ attorney had hired a mover to empty Scyphers’ home of its contents, according to court documents. They obtained a search warrant to trace Scyphers’ cell phone, but learned he was no longer using the phone, court documents state.
