Unity in the Community celebration is Saturday in Riverfront Park

Kids can visit a Cultural Village to learn about foreign countries and get free school supplies at the 22nd annual Unity in the Community celebration Saturday in Riverfront Park.

The theme of this year’s event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is “Embracing Culture and Diversity.” The goal is to bring people together to celebrate the things that unite us rather than what divides us, according to a Unity in the Community news release.

Free school supplies for children in kindergarten through eighth grade and free bicycle helmets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a health, career and education fair in addition to live music and a senior resource area.
