Carl Walter “Walt” Koch, born to Johann and Sussanna Koch on May 6, 1920 in Ritzville, WA, passed away at home in rural Connell, WA on April 2, 2016.

A WWII Army Veteran, Walt drove military dignitaries to each new town they entered and served as the spokesperson when meeting with city officials, as he was fluent in German.

Walt was a devoted husband and father who you could count on like clockwork!

He was a humble, kind and gentle man who never had an unkind word to say about anyone.

A man of many talents, there was absolutely nothing Walt could not do!

Walt was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora; parents Fred and Susan Koch; sisters Sarah Charvat, Olga Maley, Geraldine “Gerry” Hagadone, and Thelma Sprenger; brothers Lawrence Koch, Rudolph Koch, Berthold Koch, and Reuben Koch.

Walt is survived by one sister, Nathalia “Dolly” Vanderford, Yakima, WA; daughters Carole (Bill) Topor and Beverley “BJ” Horseman, Spokane, WA; Laurel (Laurence) McCall, Pasco, WA; Pauline “Polly” (Larry) Turner, Connell, WA; and son Timothy (Mary) Koch, Scottsdale, AZ; 21 grand-children, and 46 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at 2:30 pm on June 17 at Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, WA.

A joint memorial service for Walt and Lenora will be held at 1:00 pm on June 18 at the city park in Ritzville, WA.
