Kentucky point guard Tyler Ulis says he’ll enter NBA draft

Announced The exodus of Kentucky players heading to the NBA continued on Wednesday with point guard Tyler Ulis becoming the third Wildcat in the past week to announce his intention to turn pro. Ulis joins freshman backcourt mate Jamal Murray and 6-foot-11 Skal Labissiere in the NBA draft pool.

UConn star Morgan Tuck was honored Wednesday during UConn’s national championship homecoming rally after announcing she will forgo an extra year of eligibility and make herself available for the WNBA draft.

Transferring Suspended former Florida quarterback Will Grier is transferring to West Virginia. Grier will sit out next season to fulfill transfer rules and be eligible to play in 2017. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Michigan sophomore Aubrey Dawkins is transferring to Central Florida to play for his father. Johnny Dawkins was hired as UCF’s men’s basketball coach last month after being fired by Stanford.

Returning Duke guard Grayson Allen returning to school for his junior season. Coach Mike Krzyzewski announced Allen’s decision.

Signed Free agent defensive end Jared Crick has agreed to a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos, where he could be Malik Jackson’s primary replacement. The fifth-year pro started 31 of 32 games for Houston the last two seasons, playing opposite J.J. Watt.

The Oakland Raiders have agreed to a two-year contract with free-agent safety Reggie Nelson. Nelson fills one of the final major holes left on the Raiders this offseason. He will replace Pro Bowler Charles Woodson, who retired.

Died Former Iowa basketball player Murray Wier, the first Hawkeye to be named a first-team All-American, died Wednesday in Georgetown, Texas. He was 89.

Hired Former UConn basketball player Donyell Marshall has been hired as head coach at Central Connecticut. Marshall replaces Howie Dickenman, who retired following a 4-25 season, his 20th season at the school.

Recovering Florida State running back Dalvin Cook had shoulder surgery, but he should be ready for the start of preseason practices in August. Coach Jimbo Fisher made the announcement. Fisher said that the procedure to Cook’s right back labrum was to clean up some stuff that had been bothering him.
