EMTER, Lola Lorraine

Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend ascended to Heaven into the Arms of Jesus at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday March 26th 2016, due to complications from Alzheimer’s.

She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and the gentle care provided by Hospice House South of Spokane.

Lola was born in Dutton Montana on June 5th 1939 to Nick and Mildred Shein.

She was the second of four children.

Her family relocated to Spokane where Lola attended Central Valley High School.

This is where she met her first husband, Ron Medlen, and they had four children together.

After divorcing Ron, Lola went on to raise her four children as a single parent working various jobs including as a bowling instructor at Valley Bowl for several years.

She then went into the car business becoming the first car sales woman in the Spokane area, working for Dishman Dodge.

In early 1973 Lola met the love of her life, the perfect partner for her, Lloyd Emter.

They instantly fell in love and were married November 23rd 1973, and Lloyd became the best stepfather he could possibly be to her four children.

Together Lloyd and Lola developed a love for antiques.

Not only collecting, but becoming well respected antique dealers in the Spokane area.

They attended numerous antique shows and even opened a small antique mall.

In the earlier years together they loved to travel to the Boston area to purchase antiques and vacation.

They absolutely fell in love with the Cape Cod area.

Lola absolutely loved children, babies in particular, and they had a natural love for her as well.

During her Alzheimer’s days, Lola loved it when she would see a baby, and would just light up!

Her grandchildren were very important to her and she loved them like nothing else.

She would make every holiday special for them especially Easter Halloween and Christmas.
