Obituary: Isbister, Mary Louise

Age 87

ISBISTER, Mary Louise Our beautiful and beloved mom died Friday, September 11, 2015.

Born in Detroit on November 2, 1927 to Harold and Jane Weimeister, she grew up in Lake Orion, Michigan.

She earned her nursing degree at Harper Hospital and served in the Navy Cadet Nurse Corps.

She married Dr. James Isbister on July 2, 1949 and they began their lives together in Polson, Montana and later moved to Plains, where Dad established his medical practice and Mom raised five children.

It was there that they a developed a lifelong love for Montana, especially Flathead Lake.

We lived in Bellevue, Washington and Santa Barbara, California before they returned to the Northwest and settled in Spokane.

Mom is predeceased by our father, Dr. James Isbister to whom she was married for 49 years.

She is survived by her sister, Janie Jeffries; and children Marti (Bob) McGurk, Debby (Don) Morgan, Kim Ferraro, Jeff (Deanna) Isbister and Kevin (Andy) Isbister; grandchildren Matt (Allison) and Meghan McGurk, Casey (Stephanie) and Sarah Morgan, James Logan Moralis, Adam and Kate Isbister, Kari Isbister and Jeff and Jason Traughber.

She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, good friend Herb Valley and numerous well-loved friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home.

A celebration of her life will be held next summer at the family cabin on Flathead Lake.
