She and Ron first opened their home and hearts to foster care in 1982.

The State of Washington Department of Children & Family Services in Elk, placed their first foster child with them where they operated a small farm which helped to support their family and extended family.

The children all went to Riverside School District.

Carole quickly became the rock of stability to many people in the Elk area.

Carol and was a tremendous advocate for children; many children.
