Obituary: Holmes, Eileen
She was born in Urmston, (near Manchester) England on December 17, 1927 to James and Sarah Ferry.
Eileen met her future husband, David, while he was serving in the United States Air Force in England.
She immigrated to America in 1950.
Eileen was a long time resident of Dallas, OR where she worked at JC Penney, and later as a clerk for the Oregon Judicial System.
Eileen retired in 1989.
For the past many years she and husband David wintered in Desert Hot Springs, CA.
She greatly enjoyed being a part of the Almar Acres Retirement Community.
Eileen loved to play golf and enjoyed volunteering at numerous professional golf tournaments in the Palm Springs, CA area.
In Dallas, Eileen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Worshipping and fellowshipping at her church was very important to her.
Eileen is known in both communities as an avid walker, which she maintained until only recently.
She also loved her garden.
Eileen deeply loved her family and is survived by her husband, David; children, Susan (Michael) Wentworth and Craig (Cathy) Holmes; grandchildren, Joshua Lehto, Robin Lehto, Nathan (Liz) Holmes, Christopher (Jenn) Holmes, Mathew Holmes and Kassette (Jared) Harris, as well as nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eileen’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 11th at Guardian Angel Homes (23102 E Mission, Liberty Lake, WA) at 4pm.
Pastor David Pederson from Trinity Lutheran Church in Dallas, OR will be officiating.
