Obituary: Melville, William H. “Bill”
Age 92
Bill passed away on August 23, 2015 in Spokane, WA.
He graduated from Lamont High School in 1941 and attended Washington State College for one year, then came home to the farm.
He married Stella Rasmussen on January 25, 1947.
They had two children, Dean and Milly Kay.
Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star, and he was a Rainbow Dad.
He was also a former member of the Lamont Grain Growers Board.
Bill was a Washington State University Cougar fan and a longtime supporter of WSU Athletics.
Bill loved farming, and was a third generation wheat farmer in the Lamont area.
He was an exceptionally kind and giving person, beloved by his family and many friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Stella, son Dean (Mindy), daughter Milly Kay (Bill) Baldwin, step-grandchildren William Baldwin, Doug Baldwin, Devon DeLapp and Mason DeLapp, four step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Rena Duthie Melville, sister Betty Erickson, and brother Arno M. Melville.
A private service was held at Riverside Memorial Park.
